First Family celebrates Mother’s Day in Ilocos Norte

MANILA, Philippines — The First Family celebrated Mother’s Day on Sunday in their hometown in Ilocos Norte, along with former First Lady Imelda Romualdez-Marcos.

First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos posted photos on her Instagram account sharing how the First Family celebrated the special day.

Her first photo was that of her with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., her mother-in-law, and their sons Joseph Simon Marcos and William Vincent “Vinny” Marcos aboard a plane. The 95-year-old Marcos matriarch was sitting down on the plane, holding red roses on her lap while the First Family posed beside her.

The First Lady also shared two photos at a resort in the province — one where they were having a meal and another where she and the Marcos matriarch posed with a cake on the table.

“Home isn’t just a place — it’s a mother’s embrace. 💐💖

Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms who make the world a little softer, a little kinder and a whole lot brighter,” Mrs. Marcos captioned the family photo in the resort, which she posted on Facebook.

Earlier in the day, President Marcos also expressed appreciation to all mothers nationwide.

“Mothers are the quiet strength behind every family. They care, nurture, guide, and give of themselves without asking for anything in return. Their love knows no bounds—and neither does their sacrifice,” the President wrote on Instagram.
