4-year-old girl diagnosed with leukemia ‘a fighter’

“A fighter” is how Jessa Frades describes her 4-year-old daughter, Samantha Briana Calupit, who has been diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

“Samantha is precocious and talkative. She doesn’t mind being sick. She always tells me she wants to go to school,” Frades told the Inquirer.

Samantha is currently undergoing a 12-cycle chemotherapy maintenance program at Philippine Children’s Medical Center.

She will  begin her third cycle on June 4. Each cycle costs P23,500.

Frades has appealed for help because the salary of her partner, Jimson Calupit, a machine operator, is not enough for the family’s basic needs.
