Priest killed, 2 hurt as car slams truck in Nueva Vizcaya

SANTIAGO CITY – A priest died while his two passengers were hurt when their Toyota Revo collided with a ten-wheeler truck on Tuesday morning (May 8) along the national highway at Bambang town in Nueva Vizcaya province, police said.

Fr. Silvestre Ablaza, who was driving, was declared dead on arrival at a local hospital, while Fr. Rene Caligue and Tessie Aliac were injured and were under observation, according to Chief Insp. Villegas Claveria, Bambang police chief.


Ablaza was driving on his way home to Aritao town, also in Nueva Vizcaya, when he overtook another car and crashed into the truck driven by Montano Madarang of Natividad town in Nueva Ecija province.
