TUPI, South Cotabato – The manager of a popular Chrysanthemum flower farm in Tupi town, South Cotabato province was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Tuesday, the police said Wednesday.

Chief Inspector Bernie Faldas said Jeffrey Calanas, 31, who managed Eden Garden Farm in Barangay Kablon, was driving his pickup truck to the flower farm in Barangay Kablon when shot by one of two men on a motorcycle, who had tailed him, around 10 a.m.

But Faldas said they were still trying to determine the motive and identities of the suspects because the victim’s valuables and the vehicle was not missing.

He said it appeared the motive was not robbery.

“We are looking at personal grudge as the likely motive,” Faldas said.
