Lorenza Donadillo, a 33-year-old mother of four, needs to undergo open heart surgery.
There’s just one problem she needs to resolve first: how to raise P300,000 to pay for the procedure.
“I was already losing hope when a fellow patient from the Philippine General Hospital told me how your readers helped him,” Donadillo told the Inquirer in Filipino in a recent phone interview.
She said that the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office had promised to give her P50,000 for the surgery although she would have to raise the rest of the amount herself.
“I was almost resigned to my fate but every time I look at my youngest who is only six years old, I tell myself that I am not doing everything that I can possibly can. I hope that your readers will be instrumental in extending my life so I can have more time with my loved ones,” Donadillo said.
Last year, she went to work in Qatar to augment the salary of her husband, a balut vendor. However, she was sent home after just two weeks when doctors discovered her heart condition.
Donadillo, a resident of Santolan in Pasig City, can be reached at 0920-4175485. Donations can be deposited in her RCBC bank account
(account number 6019710505326975).
