Cops nab 3 ‘pushers’ in Lucena drug buy-busts
LUCENA CITY – Authorities have arrested three alleged drug pushers and confiscated nearly P100,000-worth of illegal drugs in separate buy-bust operations here, police said on Thursday.
In a report, Quezon police chief Sr. Supt. Rhoderick Armamento said a police drug enforcement unit seized a total of 16.12 grams of crystal meth or shabu valued at P96,340 from the arrested suspects.
Ernesto Tan, 64, was arrested after he sold shabu to an undercover policeman in the coastal village of Barra around 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to police.
Seized from him were four sachets of shabu weighing 1.2 grams, which he supposedly intended to distribute to drug users, mostly fishermen, in the village, police added.
Also on Wednesday, policemen arrested tricycle driver Jeffrey Caña, 34, in a drug buy-bust in Barangay Isabang. The suspect yielded seven sachets of shabu weighing 4.15 grams.
In a follow-up buy-bust operation in the same village, policemen collared Apolinario Red, 44, and seized from him 10.77 grams of shabu placed in 11 sachets.
