Murder suspect falls after three-year manhunt
PAGADIAN CITY – Police have arrested a man who went into hiding after being accused of killing a neighbor three years ago.
Supt. Benito Recopuerto, Pagadian police chief, said Roy Mamaling was arrested in Purok Esmeralda in Barangay San Jose here Tuesday night.
Recopuerto said the operation was launched after Mamaling was confirmed hiding in the community.
Mamaling was named Zamboanga del Sur’s No. 9 most wanted for eluding arrest since 2015.
He had fled Dimataling, Zamboanga del Sur, in 2015 after allegedly killing his neighbor, Perfecto Dagyagnao, over a spat.
Article continues after this advertisementRecopuerto said the suspect’s arrest was backed by a warrant issued by the court, where Dimataling was facing a murder charge for Dagyagnao’s death.
The suspect was being held in Pagadian pending his presentation to the court that issued the warrant for his arrest. /cbb
