Teen nabbed for stealing from shipping firm in Manila
A 19-year-old construction worker ended up in jail after he was caught stealing steel bars from a shipping firm’s container van.
Supt. Robert Domingo, chief of the Pandacan police station, identified the teenager as Edward dela Cruz, a resident of Pandacan.
Dela Cruz was caught at 5 p.m. Monday by Maersk Line’s checker, Ruben Sayapal, at the Container Bridge Philippines Incorporated on Tomas Claudio Street, Manila.

Sayapal accosted Dela Cruz and his accomplices after he saw them removing the steel bars on top of the firm’s container vans.
The group ran away, leading to a chase which ended with the teenager’s capture. —Aie Balagtas See
