“There is nothing to fear,” Vice President Leni Robredo assured supporters as the ballot recount for the vice presidency starts this Monday.
While admitting the fight may be difficult, Robredo said she was confident the truth will come out in the end.
“Alam natin na ‘yung pinaglalaban natin ngayon ay katotohanan .Maraming nagsasabi mahirap iyong kalaban. Marami iyong nagsasabi mahirap iyong panahon ngayon,” she told her supporters after the mass at the St. Scholastica’s Chapel in Malate.
“Pero iyong lesson ng lahat ng pinagdaanan natin – ako mismo, iyong lesson ng buhay ko – lahat mahirap, pero basta tama iyong pinaglalaban, parating liwanag iyong nasa dulo,” she added.
Robredo recalled how many people had doubted her chance in the 2016 vice presidential polls but she continued her fight and won the race.
“Kaya siguro to all our supporters and our friends who are here today, pinasasabi din ng ating lawyers na wala tayong dapat ikatakot. Wala tayong dapat ikatakot kasi katotohanan ang ating pinaglalaban,” she said.
“We’re lifting everything to the Lord. Walang dapat ikatakot, walang dapat ikahina ng loob,” she also said.
While there may be limitations, Robredo urged her supporters to continue the fight and not give up.
“Nakikita natin, this is the time of fear – fear of what is going to happen next – pero manalig tayo. Gawin lang iyong dati nating ginagawa. Maraming limitasyon pero sa liit ng mundo natin ngayon, kailangan tayo para tayo iyong magbigay ng liwanag, kasi kung tayo mismo iyong umayaw, lalong didilim iyong paligid,” the Vice President stressed.
“Sana patuloy lang po , huwag tayong susuko,” she further said. Faye Orellana, INQUIRER.net /kga
