Five people drown in Holy Week picnics in Isabela

CITY OF ILAGAN — Police and rescue workers recorded five drowning victims in Isabela at family gatherings during the Holy Week break.

Resty Tumbaga, 21, was found dead in the morning of Easter Sunday at the Cagayan river in Angadanan town.

On Black Saturday in the same town, a fourth-grade student was recovered after drowning in the river, according to  PO2 Ruben Acoba, police investigator. The victim’s name has not been released.
Also on Saturday In Reina Mercedes town, 15-year-old John Mark Capalungan drowned at the Cagayan river.
In Cabatuan town on Good Friday, five-year-old Nicole Zara drowned while nine-year-old Cesar Dictado died at a waterway on Maundy Thursday. /cbb
