A Seventh-Day Adventist student has topped the 2018 Physician Licensure Examination.

University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center graduate  Jerald Lalaguna Pelayo, topped the exam with an 88.17-percent rating.

But it was not the first time that the 24-year-old Pelayo emerged as the top examinee in a Philippine exam. He was also the Top 1 in the nursing board exam in 2011.

A native of Masbate, Pelayo studied Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the Mountain View College, an Adventist school in Bukidnon.

He was born to Rimson N. Pelayo and Belinda L. Pelayo and has three siblings.
