Marcoses elated by Sotto expose on election ‘irregularity’
Ilocos Norte Governor Imee Marcos believes that the latest expose on alleged irregularities during the 2016 elections could strengthen the election protest of her brother, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., against the Vice President.
“Tuwang-tuwa kami na inexpose din ni Senator Sotto … ang mga pangyayare noong nakalipas na halalan,” Gov. Marcos said during a Pandesal forum at the Marina Seafoods Restaurant in Quezon City.
Asked if this would back the complaint of her brother against Vice President Leni Robredo, the governor said the evidence would be the basis.
“Ang magpapalakas sa aking kapatid, sa kanyang protesta, ay yung katibayan. It will all be evidence based,” she said.
In a privilege speech on Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III claimed that a “concerned” and “impeccably reliable source” gave him information about alleged irregularities during the last elections that, if proven true, could be a “case of electoral sabotage.”
