DOTr exec: Railway sector is not only about MRT-3

The Department of Transportation (DOTr) said on Tuesday that the railway sector is not only about the Metro Rail Transit line-3 (MRT-3) as it appealed to the public to also recognize its other accomplishments.

“We understand that MRT-3 is something that we really need to fix swiftly. That is why we are doing everything we can to address all issues hounding it, correctly. But, please note that the DOTr railways sector is not only MRT-3,” DOTr Undersecretary for Railways Timothy John Batan said in a statement.

“Sana bigyang pansin din nila ang aming mga nagawa at ginagawa para sa bansa, Nariyan ang PNR Clark, PNR Bicol, Metro Manila Subway, Mindanao Railway, at marami pang iba,” he added.

The MRT-3 management earlier announced that for the past seven days, no service interruptions or passenger unloading incidents have happened.

Since 6:43 a.m. of Monday, 10 trains have been running on the MRT line.  – muf
