60-yr-old woman arrested in Lucena drug operation

LUCENA CITY – A 60-year old woman and three others were arrested in a buy-bust operation here Saturday night.

In a report, Supt. Vicente Cabatingan, Lucena police chief, said operatives from its drug enforcement unit collared Melinda Caringal, 60, known to her drug clients as “Tita Nits”; Anabelle Avenis, 37; and siblings Ronald Mandac, 36, and Francis, 42, after they sold crystal meth or “shabu” to an undercover policeman in Barangay (village) Cotta at 6:55 p.m.

Authorities seized shabu worth P4,625, a digital weighing scale and drug-sniffing paraphernalia.

Drug surrenderers from the villages tipped off to the authorities about the illegal activities of the suspects. /cbb
