Cebu Pacific launches flights between Manila and Batanes in March
Acting on the results of an online crowdsourcing campaign that it conducted last year, Cebu Pacific on Monday announced that it would launch flights between Manila and Basco in Batanes on March 25 .
“What makes this route more special is that netizens were actively engaged in the selection of our new destination – our customers were part of the process,” Alexander Lao, CebGo President and CEO, said in a statement.
Other popular choices among netizens included Daet in Camarines Norte, Mati in Davao Oriental, Bantayan Island in Cebu, San Vicente in Palawan, and Siquijor.
All top picks were then assessed in terms of readiness for commercial flights, with criteria that included airport infrastructure, safety and security processes, and passenger facilities.
The airline also announced that it would hold an introductory all-in seat sale up to 13 “or until seats last” for flights scheduled any time from March 25 to May 31, the summer peak season. The special introductory fare is at P2,699.
For thos who plan to visit Batanes from June 1 to Oct. 27, 2018, the all-in introductory seat sale fare is at P2,399.
