TUGUEGARAO CITY-A 60-year-old woman drowned after a motor boat capsized on Thursday afternoon (Feb. 1) in the waters off San Vicente village in Santa Ana town, Cagayan province.

Atanacia Unarce was the lone fatality, said Ensign Joel Nieva of the Philippine Coast Guard-Aparri naval station. Nine of her relatives were rescued by local fishermen.

They were crossing the sea on their way home to the towns of Lasam and Gattaran, when the boat was struck by strong waves, he said.
