Abra grandma shot in the face in front of kin

BAGUIO CITY-A 60-year-old woman was shot in the face by an unidentified gunman in front of her daughter and granddaughter on Thursday night (Feb. 1) in Abra province’s capital town, Bangued.

Veronica Leones was cleaning the back of her vehicle when the man approached her and shot her point blank along Barikir subvillage at Zone 5. The gunman did not harm Leones’ daughter and granddaughter. He fled with an accomplice on a motorcycle.

The victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for treatment. Police investigators were looking at land dispute as the likely reason for the attack. Kimberlie Quitasol
