Former Bureau of Customs (BOC) chief Nicanor Faeldon has been transferred to the Pasay City Jail on Tuesday morning following the order of the Senate regarding his custody.
During the transfer, Faeldon was escorted by the Senate Sergeant at Arms from the Senate building to the city jail.
Senator Richard Gordon, chair of the Senate blue ribbon committee, said the transfer order was earlier signed by Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel.
Faeldon ‘s custody has been turned over to the Pasay City jail after he traded barbs with Gordon over, among other matters, parties that Faeldon supposedly held in his Senate detention cell.
Finally appearing at the hearings on the alleged corruption at BOC, Faeldon failed to hurdle the contempt citation imposed on him by the Senate four months ago.
“(Faeldon) will now be remanded to the custody of the Pasay City jail upon order of commitment by the Senate president, and it was agreed upon unanimously,” Gordon said.

The transfer was earlier hampered when the male dorm Faeldon was supposed to stay was very unsanitary.
Faeldon later opted to stay at the designated jail cell after maintenance officers cleaned up the area. /jpv
