Poe swipes blogger: ‘You can dish it but you can’t take it’

Senator Grace Poe took a dig at Cocoy Dayao, the person allegedly behind the blog “Silent No More,” for being absent at Tuesday’s resumption of the Senate hearing on fake news.

“Is Cocoy Dayao here, for the record? No,” Poe said as she resumed the hearing of the Senate committee on public information and mass media, which she chairs.

“This is quite sad. You can dish it but you can’t take it,” she said.

The senator then thanked the resource persons who showed up in her committee’s hearing despite of threats, misgivings, apprehensions, and bullying.

“Thank you, for your courage and I thank for your mission to be able to discuss what you believe in,” Poe said.

Dayao has been summoned by the committee for his supposed blog post, which branded seven senators as “Malacañang dogs” for not signing a resolution condemning so-called extrajudicial killings, especially of children, in the country.

Senate Majority Leader Vicente “Tito” Sotto III, who was among subject of the blog, took pride for unmasking Dayao’s identity.

“For my part, I believe that I have already done my share in unmasking at least one ‘crafty spent,’ who used ‘snake tactics’ in spreading the evil of fake news about me and other senators,” Sotto said in a statement read by Poe during the hearing.

Sotto has already filed a libel case against Dayao.                   /kga

“I will see the respondent, Mr. Cocoy Dayao, in court,” he added.
