BAGUIO CITY-A girl crossing the street was killed, while three passengers were hurt, in two separate vehicular accidents here on Friday (January 26).

Amanda Moreno, 27, was in the middle of a pedestrian lane when she was struck by a dump truck loaded with sand along Suello Village on Friday afternoon.

Truck driver Marcelino Baldas, 24, claimed that he did not see Moreno crossing. The driver was detained and is facing a charge of reckless imprudence resulting to homicide charges.

On Friday night, a passenger jeepney turned turtle along Rimando Road injuring Arnel Pangilinan, 25; Vin Christian De Guzman, 24; and Daphne Leal, 34.

The police said the jeep experienced mechanical problems after it stopped to drop off some passengers.

The victims suffered minor injuries and declined to be brought to a hospital after they were given first aid by responding paramedics.
