2 jail guards, 2 others killed in Muntinlupa shootout

Four people were killed including two jail guards in a shooting incident along Tunasan, Muntinlupa Thursday morning.

Southern Police District Director Chief Superintendent Tomas Apolinario identified the two Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) personnel as Jail Officer1 Felino Salazar & JO2 Elmer Malibdao. Both were declared dead at the Medical Center in Muntinlupa.

Apolinario said the incident occurred around 8:30 a.m. near Muntinlupa City Jail in Tunasan.

The two other fatalities were allegedly the suspects of the shootout but have yet to be identified. One of them died on the spot while the other died at Ospital ng Muntinlupa.

Apolinario said that a Bureau of Corrections personnel who was also spotted in the crime scene while carrying a short firearm was now considered as a person of interest.

The investigation on the case is still ongoing.  /je
