Flights to and from Tacloban airport canceled

Two more airlines canceled their flights scheduled on Thursday between Manila and Tacloban and between Cebu and Tacloban due to the temporary closure of the Daniel Z. Romualdez Airport.

In two separate advisories on their Facebook pages, Philippine Airlines (PAL) and Air Asia announced the flight cancelations due to ongoing repairs on the airport in Tacloban City.

PR 2239 Tacloban – Cebu ETD: 5:35 p.m. / ETA: 6:20 p.m.

The management of Air Asia said affected passengers could reschedule their flights, use the credit shell, or have a full refund.

Meanwhile, PAL sought understanding from its affected passengers as the incident was beyond of their control.

“We are seeking the understanding of affected passengers as this situation is beyond the control of the airline. Please standby for more updates,” PAL said in its advisory.

On Wednesday, the Cebu Pacific had also announced the flights cancellation due to the temporary closure of Tacloban Airport. /cbb
