A woman in China recently got in trouble as she blocked the doors of a high-speed train to let her husband in, because he was running late for work.
Luo Haili, who works as a primary school teacher, was with her husband and daughter on Friday when they went to the wrong train station. They had to rush to catch the train bound to Guangzhou from Hefei in the province of Anhui, local Chinese media Xin’an Evening News via South China Morning Post reported.
As the train was about to depart, Luo and her daughter were already aboard, but her husband was still at the ticket barrier. This was when she blocked the doors to wait for him and let him in.
Next, an altercation between her and train authorities ensued, as they tried to pull her out of the train. The scene was caught in a video which ran for almost four minutes, and went viral in China.
“My husband is at the ticket entrance. I will move away [from the door] when he comes,” Lou reportedly told the police. She, her kid and her husband were eventually allowed to board all together.
This sparked various reactions from Chinese netizens. Some questioned the decision of the train station staff to let the family ride the train even after the commotion, while others pointed out how embarrassed the daughter may have been, having been forced to witness her mother’s behavior.
Lou now faces a suspension order from the local school she teaches, said the report. She may also be charged with a fine of 2,000 yuan (around P15,400) for delaying train services. Katrina Hallare/JB
