2 arrested while seeking QC police clearance

/ 05:01 AM January 10, 2018

Two men were arrested by the Quezon City Police District (QCPD) after their names had a “hit” or were red-flagged as they were applying for police clearance at the city hall compound on Monday.

Rodel Saligumba, 30, and Flover Ramos, 40, turned out to be suspects in a rape case in Quezon City and a robbery with homicide case in Cabanatuan, respectively.

Personnel from the QCPD’s Police Clearance Section were alerted and produced the warrants pending against the two men after its database showed their criminal records.

Forty four crime suspects have been arrested while trying to apply for a clearance since the QCPD received new equipment linked to national crime databases in September 2017. —Jhesset O. Enano
