Masculados member nabbed for drugs in Taguig
A member of an all-male sing-and-dance group was arrested in Taguig on Friday for alleged possession of illegal drugs.
Members of Taguig Police Community Precinct 2 (PCP 2) conducting “simultaneous anticriminality law enforcement operation,” or Sacleo, arrested Masculados member Robin Robel, 37, and his companion Rodel Isaac, 28.
Sacleo is the new term for the police’s “one-time, big-time operation.”
PCP 2 commander Senior Insp. Jonathan Arribe said a police patrol saw a maroon Toyota Vios (with conduction sticker VQ 1597) parked with its hazard lights on along M.L. Quezon Avenue in Barangay Lower Bicutan at 1:30 a.m.
He said that a topless man approached the Vios and gave something to the driver. The man then ran to one of the alleys when he saw the policemen.
Arribe said the driver, who turned out to be Robel, introduced himself as an “artist” and a member of Masculados.

Quoting Arribe, Robel said he was just a “casual” drug user, using it only occasionally during late-night shows.
The Masculados became popular in the early 2000s. Among their hit songs, which have sexually suggestive titles, include “Jumbo Hotdog,” “Titigas Lalambot” and “Sana Mama.”
Both Rodel and Isaac are detained at Taguig police station.
