Police nab 2 men, woman for illegally selling firecrackers
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) operatives arrested on Thursday three people illegally selling firecrackers and seized P100,000-worth of goods.
In a report by Radyo Inquirer, authorities from the QCPD District Special Operations Unit (DSOU) arrested sellers Alvin Abainza and Maria Celeste, together with their helper Danilo Tupas, in an entrapment operation along Mindanao Avenue.
QCPD chief Police Superintendent Guillermo Eleazar said the trio were selling firecrackers on an online website, Sulit, without the required permit.
The operatives confiscated the following: six units of “Sawa” with 10,000 rounds; two units of “Sawa” with 5,000 rounds; 43 units of Judas belt; 100 pieces of cracklings; 500 pieces of victory lights; 800 pieces of roman candles; and 500 pieces of whistle bomb.
The three are facing charges in violation of Republic Act 7183 in relation to Executive Order 28, which regulate the use of firecrackers. /cbb
