About 900 passengers were offloaded from a train early Tuesday in Mandaluyong City as the Metro Rail Transit-3 (MRT-3) suffered a hiccup.

An MRT-3 report showed that the train experienced an “electrical failure” around 5:48 a.m. at the southbound section of Shaw Boulevard Station.

The service disruption was caused by “worn out electrical sub-components,” the report said.

Affected passengers were then loaded four minutes after in a different train

On Christmas Day, the MRT-3 also had a “door failure” at Quezon Avenue Station that affected 205 passengers.     /kga
