Indian on his way to collect loan payments killed

TACURONG CITY — Unidentified gunmen riding a motorcycle shot dead an Indian national in the village of San Emmanuel here on Friday, police said.

Senior Supt. Raul Supiter, Sultan Kudarat police director, said Harpeet Singh Dhillon, 27, was driving his motorcycle from the city to San Emmanuel when the gunmen shot him from behind past 7 a.m.

Dhillon died on the spot.

Police said the victim, who was engaged in money lending, was on his way to collect payments in the village when he was shot.

The motive for the attack was unknown.

Last month, two foreign traders — an American and Pakistani — were killed in separate incidents in Pikit, North Cotabato.
