MANILA, Philippines — Christmas holiday travels saw nearly 190,000 passengers at airports nationwide on December 24 and 25, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) reported Thursday.

BI said it recorded 52,437 airport arrivals and 41,895 airport departures on Christmas Eve alone and 47,669 airport arrivals and 44,192 airport departures on Christmas Day.

“The number of travelers processed by immigration officers over the two days remained consistent with figures recorded during the same period last year, reflecting a steady recovery of international travel,” BI Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado said in a statement on December 26.
