Stop the finger-pointing and investigate the vaccine mess quietly.

This was the call of opposition lawmakers to the Duterte administration, saying the current government should look for a solution first on the controversial vaccination program of the Department of Health (DOH) rather than just resort to blaming the administration of President Benigno S. Aquino III for acquiring the anti-dengue vaccine, Dengvaxia.

“Sa halip na ang priority paano bibigyan ng solusyon, naghahanap ng kakasuhan at sisisihin,” Erice said in a press briefing along with other members of the “Magnificent 7” bloc on Tuesday.

“Tahimik nilang imbestigahan at kung may malakas na ebidensya at saka kasuhan. Turo nang turo. Nalilito maski ang DOH ano ba ang priority natin, bigyan ng solusyon ang problema o i-prosecute ang nagdala ng vaccine na ito,” Erice also said.

For his part, Magdalo Rep. Gary Alejano said the Aquino administration could not be blamed entirely for the P3.5-billion procurement of the vaccines but the French pharmaceutical firm Sanofi Pasteur.

“Nangyayari palagi sisihin at nagiging political ang issue instead of addressing the problem itself,” Alejano said.   /kga
