PDEA nabs woman for bribing anti-drug agent

A woman was arrested Tuesday night after being caught bribing a Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) agent in exchange of dropping the drug charges against three men.

A certain Rihanna Abainza was arrested after being caught in the act of giving money to an operative of the PDEA Special Enforcement Service (SES) in Quezon City at around 11 p.m., the PDEA said in a statement.

Abainza was reportedly asking the agent to drop the criminal charges against the suspects and the release of Alex Malambut Macapag-agir alias Kaha, Ibrahim Pascual Rudsoman, and Junaid Malambut Maca-Agir.

The three men were arrested in a buy-bust operation on Tuesday at SM Marikina at around 3:30 p.m.

Authorities seized from the suspects a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing suspected crystal met (also known as shabu) with an estimated value of P95,000. /jpv
