Taguig City’s most wanted man, who is facing multiple charges ranging from homicide to violation of election gun ban, was finally captured after months in hiding.
Laxer Osmeña was arrested after he was seen again outside his Taguig residence on M.L. Quezon Street, Barangay Hagonoy, at 4:45 p.m. on Monday by members of the Taguig police and Southern Police District (SPD).
According to Chief Insp. Jerry Amindalan, head of the SPD intelligence unit, they have been looking for Osmeña since March.
The 26-year-old Osmeña is a member of a group involved in robberies and drug pushing, police said.
The group’s members sport a “teardrop” tattoo near the eye.
Their alleged leader, Alvin Alcantara, Osmeña’s relative and neighbor, had also been linked to the killing of two policemen, one of them PO1 Jovy Elchico of the Taguig police antidrugs unit, on July 9.
Osmeña has standing warrants of arrest for homicide, frustrated homicide, illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, and three counts of violation of the Omnibus Election Code. —Dexter Cabalza
