Moderate to heavy rain is expected in parts of Palawan, as a new low pressure area (LPA) was spotted north-northeast of Puerto Princesa City, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Association (Pagasa) said in its latest forecast on Monday.

Based on the weather bureau’s 8:56 a.m. advisory, rains may occur for two to three hours in Quezon, Narra, Sofronio Española, Aborlan, Puerto Princesa City, San Vicente, and Roxas in Palawan.

While the LPA previously located at Southeast of General Santos City had already “dissipated,” Pagasa said in its advisory issued at 4 a.m. that the new LPA was spotted 90 kilometers north-northeast of Palawan’s capital.

Pagasa earlier issued a forecast that Metro Manila  would have clear skies, as the country hosts the 31st Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit and Related Meetings from Monday, November 13, 2017, to Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
