Nov. 5 to 30
Dapitan City founding anniversary celebration
Residents of Dapitan City, Zamboanga del Norte province, remember Datu Pagbuaya, a chieftain of the Subanon ethnic group who founded the city. The word Dapitan is derived from “dapit,” which means “to invite.” Among the festivities are songwriting, singing and dance competitions.
Nov. 9 to 13
Hinabyog Festival
Article continues after this advertisementA festival in the town of Esperanza in Sultan Kudarat province that looks back on the town’s history and celebrates its diverse culture and traditions. Events include street dancing, cultural show, beauty pageant and sports competitions.

Tanay Hane Festival
A celebration in Tanay, Rizal province, showcasing the town’s culture, tourism and agriculture industry. The word “hane” is an expression of the locals, which is used to seek agreement. Festivities include a float parade, dancing competition, job and trade fair, a drum and lyre competition, and a “boodle” fight.
