This huge, eight-column mausoleum is reminiscent of the Greek Parthenon, an ancient temple dedicated to goddess Athena. It is the largest of all mausoleums in the 128-hectare Manila Memorial Park, sitting on a 1,383-square meter land or about 500 lots. According to the Manila Memorial Park Management, the structure is owned by Po family. (PHOTO by Jhoanna Ballaran/INQUIRER.net)

Every family has its own way of honoring their dearly departed: some opt to bury them six feet underground, while others choose to cremate or place them in a simple tomb or crypt.

Still some – particularly the rich – would prefer to remember their dead with grandeur: in mausoleums, or in monument-like structures, a fitting tribute on how their deceased family members lived their lives.

Mausoleums stand as proof of a surviving family’s love for their deceased loved ones. And as Filipinos observe the annual All Saints’ Day on Wednesday, the INQUIRER.net peeked on some of the grandest and most beautiful mausoleums at the Manila Memorial Park in Parañaque City.  /kga
