Gunman poses as buyer to kill Malabon storekeeper

A 31-year-old Malabon City resident was shot dead by a motorbike-riding gunman while he was manning his sari-sari store on Monday night.

A report to Senior Supt. John Chua, the city police chief, identified the victim as Byron Luna, also a jeepney driver, who was attacked around 8:30 p.m. at his store on M.H. del Pilar Street, Barangay Santolan.

The police recovered from the crime scene a cartridge fired from a .45-caliber pistol.

Witnesses told the police that the gunman pretended to buy something from the victim before shooting him at close range and escaping on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice.
