Duterte names OICs for health, information technology departments

President Rodrigo Duterte has appointed Undersecretary Herminigildo Valle as officer in charge of the Department of Health (DOH), Malacañang said Thursday.
Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the President named Valle after the Commission on Appointments rejected the ad interim appointment of Health Secretary Paulyn Ubial, the fifth Cabinet member to be booted out of the 17-month-old Duterte administration.
Abella added that Undersecretary Eliseo Rio was designated as officer in charge of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
Eliseo’s appointment came weeks after DICT Secretary Rodolfo Salalima resigned the post. /cbb
