On Wednesday, the military rescued 17 hostages of the terrorists — nine males and eight females.

Government forces have been battling the terrorists led by Isnilon Hapilon, the purported leader of the Islamic State in Southeast Asia, since May 23. Military officials say they see the end of the siege before the month ends. /idl
