‘Jolina’ now over Quirino Province

Tropical Storm “Jolina” has made landfall over Casiguran, Aurora and is now over Quirino province, the state weather bureau said on Friday night.

In its 10 p.m. bulletin, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said the center of the storm was estimated in the vicinity of Maddela, Quirino.

It has sustained winds of 80 kph near the center and gusts of up to 110 kph, moving northwest at 19 kph.

Estimated rainfall amount is from moderate to heavy within the 300 km diameter of the Tropical Storm.

Pagasa said moderate to occasionally heavy rains is expected over most parts of Luzon beginning Friday night.

Residents in these areas, especially those under tropical cyclone warning Signals 2 and 1 are alerted against possible flashfloods and landslides.

“Jolina” is expected to exit the landmass of Luzon on Saturday morning, Pagasa said.

Signal No. 2 was hoisted over Isabela, Aurora, Quirino, Kalinga, Mountain Province, Ifugao, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Benguet, Abra, La Union and Nueva Vizcaya.

Signal No.1 was raised over Cagayan including Babuyan group of islands, Apayao, Nueva Ecija, Pangasinan, and Northern Quezon including Polillo island.
