Kian’s parents, witnesses expected to attend Senate probe on teen’s slay
The parents of Kian delos Santos and witnesses to his killings during a drug raid in Caloocan City on August 16 are expected to attend the Senate probe on Thursday (Aug. 24), Senator Panfilo Lacson said.
The Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs, chaired by Lacson, is scheduled to start its probe on delos Santos’ death at 2:00 p.m.
“…At dadalo yung mga magulang (ni delos Santos), yung eyewitnesses, yung forensics, pati yung CCTV dadalhin, at si Atty. Percida,” Lacson said in an interview over DZMM. Percida is Atty. Percida Acosta, the chief of Public Attorney’s Office (PAO).
(Delos Santos’ parents, the eyewitnesses, forensic experts, and Atty. Percida Acosta will attend the probe. The CCTV footage will also be presented.)
Lacson earlier said Philippine National Police (PNP) Director General Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa, and representatives from the National Bureau of Investigation, Department of Justice, and PNP Internal Affairs Service (PNP-IAS) would also attend the hearing.

17-year-old Delos Santos, a grade 12 student, was killed after he allegedly resisted arrest by Caloocan cops. But some eyewitnesses claimed that he was “given a gun, asked to run and was shot by the cops.”
A CCTV footage also showed policemen dragging a boy, who was later confirmed by the cops to be the victim.
Delos Santos also tested negative for gunpowder on Wednesday, while autopsy results conducted by the PAO showed that he sustained two gun shot wounds to the head and one at the back. A PNP autopsy, however, showed only two gun shot wounds to the head of Delos Santos.
