New low pressure area spotted off Eastern Samar

The state weather bureau on Thursday said it is tracking a low pressure area off Eastern Samar.

The LPA was last spotted 670 kilometers northeast of Borongan, Eastern Samar, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said. The southwest monsoon will continue to affect Luzon.   Cagayan Valley, Cordillera administrative region (CAR), Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas and the provinces of Ilocos Norte, Zambales, Bataan, Quezon and Palawan will have cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and possible occasionally heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning due to thunderstorms.   Metro Manila and the rest of the country will have partly cloudy to cloudy skies except for isolated light to occasionally heavy rains, gusty winds and lightning. Frances Mangosing/ASU
