Solons raise stink over unfinished work on toilets

House leaders raised a stink on Wednesday about unfinished toilets in the halls of the Batasang Pambansa after a toilet bowl being used by an unfortunate reporter turned on its side.

An investigation showed that the toilet bowls were not bolted to the floor, though the contractors had made it look like they were.

Workers had rushed to finish renovation work and repairs in the toilets of the complex in time for the President’s State of the Nation Address last Monday.

But apparently they did not quite pull it off.

Some of the toilets had puddles on the floors and the finish on the ceilings and walls was incomplete. One wall in the main lobby toilet for men still bore a handwritten instruction to “tighten.”
