An administration ally in the House of Representatives on Sunday said more impeachment complaints are being prepared against Vice President Leni Robredo.

In an interview with radio dzBB, Pwersa ng Bayaning Atleta Rep. Jericho Nograles said he received information that more impeachment complaints are being prepared against the Vice President, who was critical of the administration’s brutal war on drugs.

Nograles quoted Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez, who earlier told the Inquirer that the second regular session of the lower House would be “colorful” with more plans to file impeachment complaints against Robredo and Chief Justice Maria Lourdes Sereno.

“’Yung nangyari naman recently, may pronouncement ang ating Speaker sa House na maaaring magkaroon ng mga series of impeachment dito sa mababang kapulungan. At ang iniisip ko, kasama na siguro doon yong kay Vice President Leni Robredo,” Nograles said.

“Maaari. ‘Yung mga naririnig naman natin, syempre mahirap ma-confirm until makita mo ang papeles. Pero kung tinatanong mo ako, kung meron akong narinig na mga tsismis, aba meron,” Nograles said.

He begged off from divulging more information about the works to file more impeachment complaints against Robredo.

Nograles was earlier eyed to endorse the second impeachment complaint prepared by accused pork barrel scam mastermind Janet Lim-Napoles’ counsel Bruce Rivera and suspended lawyer Trixie Cruz-Angeles.

But the lawmaker accused the two lawyers of misrepresenting him in the complaint without his consent in what was an apparent case of miscommunication.

But now, Nograles hinted that he might as well be willing to endorse the succeeding impeachment complaints against Robredo.

“Malamang kung totoo nga ito, malamang isa sa mga unang makakita nito ay ako,” Nograles said.

Robredo has faced impeachment threats before the lower House ever since she sent a video to a United Nations body criticizing the administration’s brutal war on drugs that has killed thousands of suspected drug users and pushers.

Robredo also divulged  an alleged “palit-ulo” scheme, where poor families were allegedly rounded up by the police who would then demand that relatives of drug pushers would be taken in exchange for the accused drug personalities. JE
