Aquino on top of ‘Chedeng’ situation, says spokesman

MANILA, Philippines—President Benigno Aquino III will be very much in command of the situation in the Philippines, including government measures in connection with the passage of Typhoon “Chedeng,” even after he leaves Thursday for an overnight state visit to Thailand.

“The President will be on top of the situation,” presidential spokesperson Edwin Lacierda said on Wednesday.

Lacierda said government officials will keep the President informed of developments involving Chedeng, which is expected to make landfall in northern Luzon on Friday.
