2 suspected drug pushers nabbed in Lucena City
LUCENA CITY – Police swooped down on a village here and arrested two suspected drug pushers on Wednesday night, police said Thursday.
Senior Supt. Roderick Armamento, Quezon police director, said police operatives armed with search warrants raided the house of Dennis Rosas, alias “Bayer,” 45, in Barangay (village) Ibabang Dupay around 9:30 p.m.
Police found seven small plastic sachets of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) weighing 1.3 grams worth P2,414 in the illegal drug market and assorted drug paraphernalia in the suspect’s house.
Two hours later, the same police team also raided the house of suspect Eduardo Merilo Calualhatian Jr., alias “Kalbo,” 31, in another part of the village and also found P777 worth of shabu and assorted drug sniffing equipment.
“Our focus now is the elimination of street and village level drug traffickers. They serve as important parts of the local drug network,” Armamento said. JE
