Cebu’s Amit bows out of World 10-Ball tilt
Rubilen “Bingkay” Amit bowed out of contention in the 2011 Yalin World Women’s 10-Ball Championship on Saturday after losing her Last 8 match against Chinese Taipei’s Chen Tsai-pei at the Robinson’s Galleria in Ortigas.
Chen ended Amit’s bid to regain the crown she won in 2009, ousting the top Filipino bet with an 8-7 decision in the quarterfinals.
Amit made a magnificent shot in the 14th frame to force a hill-hill finale but eventually fell in the end.
“Masaya na akong naka abot sa 7-all kahit may mga dry break akong natamo sa kabuuan ng laro,” said Amit.
Chen raced to a 5-3 lead but Amit rallied and regained the upperhand at 6-5.
Earlier, Amit’s Puyat stablemate Iris Ranola was ousted by H.S.Lai of Chinese-Taipei, 4-8, in the Last 16.
