Archdiocese of Manila accepting donations for Tondo fire victims
The social action arm of the Archdiocese of Manila is appealing for help for the victims of a Feb. 8 fire that left around 3,000 families homeless at the Farola Compound in Tondo, Manila.
Fr. Anton Pascual, executive director of Caritas Manila, said the organization had so far handed out 1,000 packs of relief goods to the displaced residents, including food, water, clothes, and hygiene kits.
The Minor Basilica of the Black Nazarene in Quiapo has also given 200 packs of relief goods and 500 packed meals.
San Agustin Church in Intramuros and the Our Lady of Peace and Good Voyage Parish in Delpan, Tondo, have also set up soup kitchens for the fire victims.
Pascual said Caritas would still accept donations in the form of food, water, clothes, hygiene items, blankets, tarpaulins, and sleeping mats.
