Duterte orders seizure of Lam’s assets in PH

DAVAO CITY – President Rodrigo Duterte on Saturday said he has ordered the seizure of all assets in the Philippines of Macau gambling magnate Jack Lam for not paying the correct taxes, aside from ordering his arrest.

Speaking to reporters here after his arrival from state visits to Singapore and Cambodia, Duterte said while it was true that Lam had paid taxes for all bets received by his gambling enterprise from bettors within the Philippines, no tax had been paid for bets from other countries, which were placed online.

Duterte said by not paying the correct taxes, Lam had already committed a crime. TVJ
