Alleged drug lord Kerwin Espinosa is “very cooperative” but hopes he will not be killed, Senator Panfilo “Ping” Lacson said on Monday.
Lacson, chair of the Senate committee on public order and dangerous drugs, said Espinosa’s wish was contained in a draft affidavit emailed to him.

“Mukhang very cooperative. Sabi naman nya (Espinosa), sana lang huwag s’yang mapatay pero marami syang sinabi doon sa affidavit,” he said in an interview at the Senate.
Lacson’s committee is leading the Senate investigation on the killing of Espinosa’s father, Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa, inside the provincial jail last November 5.

At the request of police chief Director General Ronald dela Rosa, the senator said the committee would hold its next hearing on Wednesday at 9 a.m. at the conference room of Camp Crame in Quezon City where Kerwin is temporarily detained.
Lacson said Kerwin’s draft affidavit contained new names of personalities allegedly involved in illegal drugs .
“Syempre government officials, mostly police officials,” the senator said, referring to the new revelations of Espinosa.
Asked if he would ask Kerwin to name during the hearing the personalities he identified in the affidavit, the senator said, “Depende sa takbo ng mga tanong. Syempre sasagutin nya pero guided pa naman sya ng affidavit nya.”
“Pero wala raw syang blue book,” Lacson added.
The senator said he had not yet finished reading the entire affidavit of the alleged drug lord. CBB/rga
