LPA outside PAR to bring rains over Visayas, Caraga, Davao
The state weather bureau on Thursday said it is tracking a low pressure area (LPA) outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility.
The trough of LPA was last observed 665 kilometers southeast of Hinatuan in Surigao del Sur, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.
The weather disturbance is unlikely to intensify into a tropical cyclone but will bring light to moderate occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Eastern and Central Visayas, Caraga and Davao region.
Flashfloods and landslides are possible in these areas, it added.
The tail-end of a cold front in Northern and Central Luzon, meanwhile, is also expected to weaken and will only bring cloudy skies with light rains over Cagayan Valley. RAM/rga
